Day 63 - Baobab Tree Bush Camp to Halali, Waterhole, Etosha National Park
It was easier getting up early with the excitement of going to Etosha National Park. We prepared breakfast and lunch to go for the afternoon game drive before getting on the road with the days temperature slowly rising. We made great time and arrived at the Etosha National Park before lunch, we did the usual veterinary check and had to drive and walk through a disinfecting solution, precautions to stop the transfer of Foot & Mouth disease entering the park. At the first waterhole we saw Elephant, a Black Rhino, Gazelle, Oryx, Zebra & the carcass of a Giraffe which was covered in Vultures feeding on the fresh kill (the smell was funky to say the least!) we stayed and had lunch at the waterhole watching the game come and go.
We continued on 75km to Halali Camp and arrived around 1600. The camp was fitted out with all the amenities including restaurant and pool! We setup camp and some of the group went out on an afternoon Game Drive, we stayed at camp and checked in with the families which was great to hear from everyone.
We relaxed the rest of the night having a few drinks with Paul, Celeste & Gwen before turning in for the night but then being kept awake most the the night by a group of Honey Badgers terrorising the campsite by overturning rubbish bins and making a ruckus.
