Day 61 Maun, Botswana to The Caprivi, Namibia
We were up early for our early departure from Maun. We had a nourishing breakfast and Al had the dreaded Malaria tablet, a bucket of water and 2 electrolyte tablets before getting on the road.
We left Maun behind and headed north west towards the Namibian border. Sad to leave Botswana, but excited about Namibia and it's adventures!
We stopped for lunch in the 40+ degree heat and had a refreshing salad and tasty sandwich before carrying on towards Namibia.
We arrived at the border early afternoon and checked out of Botswana no problem racing to beat a Nomad Tour that pulled in just after us. We then drove through no mans land to the Namibian side where once again we spent minimal time checking in, much to our relief.
Once in Namibia we entered the Caprivi Game Park and drove over dirt roads for 30km until we made the turn into the driveway for the Ngiri campsite, after a 3km drive we arrived at the gate to the campsite which sat on the banks of the Caprivi River. We grabbed a cold beer from the bar and relaxed at the waters edge watching the Hippos surface as the sun set.
We turned in for an early night and fell asleep to the sound of the Hippos laughing less than 100 meters from us.
