Caves, Birds & Sunsets — Explorers Cafe

Day 46 Nairobi to Cape TownWarthogs Bush Camp to Kuimba Shiri Bird Park, Harare 360kmWe were up at 04h30, packed our gear and had breakfast at 05h30 before our departure at 06h00. We drove for 5 hours stopping at Chinhoyi Caves an hour from Harare and had lunch. We continued on and managed to get to Bird Park at 15h30 after dropping Patrick off to spend the night with his family, just in time for the 16h00 Falconry show which we managed to get some fantastic up close photos of Spotted Owls, Barn Owls, a variety of Buzzards, Fish and Marshall Eagles in flight and later watched the Sacred Ibis & African Open-billed Stork coming back to roost. We were also treated to another picture perfect sunset which got better with every passing moment.We then had a Braai dinner prepared by the bird park which was our first on the trip and devoured by everyone. We then cruised off for an early night and listened to the night birds calling each other.
