Day 36 Nairobi to Cape Town
Chitimba Camp, Lake Malawi, it was an early start, we wandered to the restaurant for breakfast dropping our large bag of laundry with Grace ( the local laundry woman). We sat down to a "Full Monty" Breakfast and planned our day which by the time we finished breakfast ended up being a day of not doing much. Most of the guys did the "Village Walk" which ended up being more of a money soliciting walk than anything else but was enjoyed all the same. We met Eddie (the owner of Chitimba) who also had a huge passion for photography but had been robbed at the end of last year and all his gear had been taken so he was waiting for his next trip back to the Nederland's to purchase his new camera.
We then had a delicious burger which went down very well.Later in the afternoon we we walked down to the beach and were surrounded by kids wanting their photos taken posing in all manner of positions as well as the infamous "sand monster" pose.
We were joined by Eddie who lead us down the beach to where the woman were doing their washing in the Lake so we sat down and shortly after blended into the surroundings and got some fantastic images of the ladies and kids doing what they do naturally as opposed to the posing.
We stayed down on the beach and waited for the moon rise to come and it did in spectacular fashion and I was grateful I had dragged my tripod around with me the last 2 months.
We made our way back to the restaurant for a simple dinner of toasties and chips before heading to our room to charge all our gear and have an early night.
