Day 66 - Spitzkoppe Camp to Swakopmund
After breaking down our campsite we got ready to depart but then Joe (one of our tour mates) came running down the mountain after a hike, he had managed to lose his iPhone down a crevasse and an operation was set in motion to retrieve it. It required the go ahead of the rest of the crew as it altered our timing for the day and there was a unanimous green light given so Luke & Joe rushed back up the rock to retrieve it and at the last minute they had successfully got it back.
We left the campsite 45 minutes later than expected and went full steam towards the coast 120km away.
We arrived at the Cape Cross Seal Colony in the late morning and received our permit to view the residents. We drove from the office a few minutes and were greeted by the ripe smell of the colony wafting in our direction. We sent 30 minutes at the colony (which was as much as our nose's could handle) then headed back the way we came and into the town of Swakopmund.
